We will also provide activity sheets for students to bring back to the classroom, reading material, and further reading suggestions.
Our presentations will tie into STAAR testing in several ways. We will provide print outs and leave behind material for reading comprehension, go over basic science and mathematics concepts covered in STAAR testing, and discuss social studies and U.S. History aspects. This ties into the following grade tests:
- 3 – 8 – Mathematics
- 3 – 8 – Reading
- 5, 8 – Science
- 8 – Social Studies and U.S. History
Our presentations are designed to be a compliment to the TEKS readiness standards and an excellent resource for all Texas based students.

OUR VISION
To celebrate and showcase the people and aviation accomplishments of North Texas, in a museum and science center that can preserve and display our heritage, educate our community, and inspire our young people to stay in school and achieve their full potential. Our plans for this expansion can be found in the following document.
Restoration
Aircraft acquisition at the FWAM museum starts with our collection policy. When a potential aircraft acquisition is brought to our attention, we look to our collection policy to determine the aircraft’s suitability for addition to the collection. If an aircraft meets the collection policy, we can start to consider leading up to restoration in the maintenance of the airframes. The key to a successful acquisition is planning. All aspects of acquiring an aircraft have cost considerations that need to be determined and funded before any action items occur. We move through project planning, fundraising, and finally, we schedule and execute delivery. Each aircraft is different, but we have found this process to work for us over the years.
